Basically the partners that I mentioned in the previous post were mainly single pitch partners (and there were many that I left out). It could be sport climbing or traditional climbing. I have enjoyed climbing with each of those people over the years and I learned a lot from each of them.
This list is of my big wall/multi-pitch partners whom I have luckily traded belays with over the years. These people are in my opinion the MVP’s. I can depend upon them to do the right thing when the situation gets rough. I will travel with them anywhere and do anything for them and put my life in their hands. It has taken 20 years+ to create this list. This is my A-Team and the list is short..(in no particular order)
- Mike Anderson: Determined, quiet, hardworking, a planner, goal oriented, fast, strong, dialed with big wall and new routing skills. Has a real job.
- Mike Brumbaugh: Positive attitude, “Sunshine Mike” (brings the good weather), bold, great world traveler, get’s it done, always ready to go on an adventure., dialed with big wall and new routing skills. Has a real job.
- Ari Menitove: Strong, bold, funny, will eat anything, can and will go anywhere, dialed with big wall and new routing skills. Has a real job.
- Chris Righter: Strong, motivated, hard working, willing to put in the time, dialed with big wall and new routing. Has a real job.
It’s funny that the people that I have depended upon the most, also hold a great deal of responsibility at work too! Cheers to all you hold down full time jobs and get it done no matter what the venue!
And to the A-Team, thanks for climbing with me and let the adventures continue into the wild blue yonder!
