Training Day

The day began with the sunrise as we headed out to the trailhead for a mountain bike ride. Mitch and I are trying out an adventure race in April and I needed to ride (since its been 20 years since I really rode a mountain bike. After a quick 10 miles as the sun was rising. I headed to Rifle with Masumi to clip a few bolts in the perfect temps.

I was rusty on the trails but eventually got the hang of riding single track and I wore out after only 11 pitches in the canyon. It was good to be reminded that I cannot slack anymore. The great thing about testing your level every once in a while is that you find out where you are. If you listen you can progress and if you ignore it, well I guess you get to stay where you are at or sink even further below. You get to choose.
